The patient pays a set price in advance or at the time of service. We do bill Medicare; however, we are not in network with any other insurance companies. The patient can submit their own claims to their insurance company and documentation needed will be provided by Lemons Therapy after completing care. Cash-based billing eliminates the confusing insurance bills as the amount billed to insurance depends on timed and untimed coding and services that vary day to day. Being cash-based means that your therapist can focus on providing the most efficient and patient centered service while keeping administrative cost low. No more insurance limits on the number of visits you are allowed and no more waiting for insurance approval for start of care or additional visits to continue care. Documentation is performed in compliance with all legal requirements, just like any physical therapy practice.
Medicare Part B is the only in-network insurance billed on behalf of the patient. All other insurance company beneficiaries are able to submit claims for reimbursement after completion of care and all needed documentation will be provided. To help in determining your physical therapy benefits, use the worksheet provided at the bottom of the FAQ section. Generally, depending on your insurance policy, once you file a claim, you will either receive a reimbursement check from the insurance company or the cost of the visit will be applied to your deductible.
Yes! Kansas is a direct access state, meaning a Physician Script is not needed! This is especially beneficial if you do not want to spend the money to jump the insurance hoops of PCP visit, imaging, specialist visit, etc., then referral to PT. Physical Therapists are movement experts. A Doctor of Physical Therapy degree includes training in multifaceted conditions, which means that if you present with a non-musculoskeletal condition, we are trained to recognize these signs and will then refer you on. Medicare beneficiaries must have an established physician however, to sign off on PT Plan of Care.
In most cases, the out-of-pocket expense for a course of Physical Therapy will be LESS at Lemons Therapy. This is due to being able to charge less per visit because of a simplified cash-based fee structure that streamlines billing and does not require billing personnel overhead. We are able to focus all energy on patient care, allowing patients to make informed decisions regarding the cost of their health care choices.
